The partners of Dare Two Share are committed to protecting your privacy and adhere to the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act, 1988. This policy details our current policies and practices relating to the handling and use of personal information.

1. What information do we collect and how do we use it?

If you apply for a job via our website, or otherwise register to use our recruitment services, we may need and collect personal information such as:

(a) your name, address, email address, date of birth, telephone numbers;
(b) your current employer, work experience and qualifications;
(c) your current salary and expected salary;
(d) the type of work and work environment you are interested in;
(e) the names and contact details of your referees;
(f) references about you from referees you nominate;
(g) comments about your performance from employers we place you with;
(h) the results of competency tests you undergo from the organisations which conduct them.

We use this information to provide recruitment services to you. We may collect this information from you or from others. Those others may include the parties we refer to at (f) to (h) above.

We do not collect general information related to your use of our website, such as, Internet Protocol addresses or the time and date of your visit to the website.


When you register to use our recruitment services via our website, you will need to open an account by supplying a user name and password. We may then contact you by email about our recruitment services, including to send newsletters. If at any time you decide you do not wish to receive electronic communications from us, you can unsubscribe by way of your account.

2. Who may we disclose your personal information to?

We may disclose personal information we collect about you to:

(a) employers who recruit you or who may wish to consider you for a position; and
(b) referees.


We do not trade in your personal information, nor do we sell or rent it to others. We do not transfer your information to any overseas individuals or organisations.

3. What if you do not give us the information we need?

If you do not give us the information we need, we cannot provide you with recruitment services.

4. How do we keep and protect your information?

We keep the information we collect from you in confidential paper files and/or a secure computer database.

We protect your information by:

(a) training our staff about privacy, confidential information and how to maintain the confidentiality of confidential information of our clients;
(b) maintaining secure premises, including by using locks and security systems;
(c) using passwords and keylocks when our computers are not in use;
(d) anti-virus software;
(e) auditing and data integrity checks;
(f) retaining paper files in a central location and tracking their movement from that location; and
(g) if information is sensitive, identifying it as such.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as is necessary. When we no longer need your personal information, we will dispose of it in a way that prevents any other party from accessing it.

5. How can you access and correct your personal information?

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you by applying to us in writing and giving us sufficient details to identify the information.

If you believe that personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or not up to date, you can also apply to us in writing to correct it. If we agree with you, we will correct our records. If we do not agree, we will mark our records to indicate your claim that the information is inaccurate, incomplete or not up to date.

We need your request in writing for security reasons.

We will not charge you for receiving your request for access to, or correction of, your personal information. However, we may charge you for providing the information if the work involved is significant. In this case, our Privacy Officer will determine the charge based on the marginal cost of giving you access.
